PREMISE: The best of men are those who are best to their spouse. Prophet Muhammad SAW is always telling the men to treat their women well not the other way around. He acknowledges that it is usually the men who are usually negligent.
Romance from the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad SAW:
(1) Eat together and enjoy each other's companu. Prophet Muhammad SAW used to feed his wife. He used to share every meal with his wife.When food from one of his wives dropped he still picked it up and ate it.
(2) You should buy her something not because she needs it but because it shows her you thought about her. It's not what you buy but it was because you thought about her, yout took time from your day and enjoyment and disrupted it for her, you enjoyed buying it for her, it brings your hearts closer through this small act.
(3) You should honor your spouse. Give up your chair for her, give her priority. Be more considerate and care to your spouse than to others.
(4) What you ask from your wife, give her. If you want gentleness from her, you must also be able to gentle to her.
(5) Express your love. Show her and show others you love her. Make it public. No need to be shy. PDA Prophet Muhammad SAW and Aishah used to have pet names, a secret language with each other, play with one another, etc. Prophet Muhammad SAW inconvenience the whole Muslim army right before a battle to find a black string necklace that Aishah had lost in the dessert. You must show your wife you love her and give the utmost importance to her. Don't ever make her feel insignificant. The best of the believing men are those who love their wife. Say I love you often and in different ways.
(6) Be generous with your money. The charity that has the most blessing is buying things for your wife and family. Gift giving builds love for one another and appreciation.
(7) Give more than you take. Whatever you take, you have to give back more. If in your relationship you keep taking appreciation don't give back with added value...you will go bankrupt.
